Marina Beach : located on the eastern side of Chennai, adjoining the Bay of Bengal is one of longest beach in asia & Second largest in world which is about 4.5 km long. The fine sandy beach extends to a length of 55 Km, from Fort St. George all the way to Mahabalipuram.
Attractions Around Marina Beach :
The new lighthouse in one end of the beach & , are several statues of Tamil scholars and two splendid bits of sculpture- the Victory of Labour and the Mahatma Gandhi In between, sentinels on the promenade.
Also memorials for M. G. R and Annadurai( former Chief minister of Tamil Nadu) are present on the beach. Recently, a statue of the actor Sivaji Ganesan was also installed.
