Murudeshwara Beach

Situated to about 16 kms from Bhatkal & 76 kms from Gokarna , is this holy place Murudeswara.

This bounded by shimmering sea and rolling hills & has been consecrated by a piece of the Pranalinga of Mahabaleshwara thrown by Ravana.

The main attraction in this palce is Murdeswara Temple which is about 500 years old & a 15 m. huge statue of Shiva which was built reasently. There is also a huge fort located nearby the this temple whic is believed to be renovated by Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore. 

How to Reach Murudeshwara: 
Connected by road to Bhatkal (16 km) and Gokarna (67 km). 
Nearest railway station is Bhatkal.
