Yana Hills

Is about 500 Kms from Bangalore & about 25 Kms from Kumta is situated in Sahyadri mountains range.

The Bhairaveshwara Shikhara peak is about 120 meters in height and the Mohini peak which is about 90 meters height ar the main attraction in yana. These two peaks are formed of black crystalline limestone. 

As per the mythology, Lord Vishnu (as Mohini) killed an evil demon, Basmasura at this place. A cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is present at the base of the Bhairaveshwara shikhara peak & the idol of Goddess Parvathi is present at the base of the Mohini Shikara peak. Devotees in large numbers offer prayers here.
