The Mysore Palace : One of the most important place to visit in mysore this palace. Henry Irwin the then consulting architect of the colonial government of Madras designed this beautiful Indo-Saracenic palace with domes, turrets, arches and colonnades. It was built at a cost of over Rs. 4.2 million and was completed in 1912. The majestic Durbar Hall has an ornate ceiling and many sculpted pillars.
This Mysore palace is the largest palace in the country is open for public every day from 10.30am to 5.30pm . On Sunday nights and during the entire Dussehra festival, 97,000 electric bulbs illuminate the building in a spectacular display between 7 and 8pm .
