Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary : located on banks of Pulicat lake in Nelapattu village of nellore district is about 50 Kms from chennai. This Bird sanctuary is spread over to 404 Sq.Km in area.
Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary is the breeding ground of many species that are now considered endangered. Some of the commonly found species of the Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary are Spotted Belied Pelican, Spoon Bill, White Ibis, Night Heron, Open Billed Stork, Painted Stork, Little Cormorant and Spoon Bill.
There is also education centre at this park for environmental studies & a library that offers information about different species of birds & animals.

By Air : Chennai is the nearest airport to reach the Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary(50 Kms).
By Road : 50 kms by road from Chennai highway and is well connected by buses.
By Rail : The nearest railway station is Sulurpet which is about 10Kms.
