Gandhi Nagar the capital of the state of Gujarat lies on the west bank of the Sabarmati River at a distance of 464 Kms from Mumbai. Gandhinagar is the second planned city in India after Chandigarh.

Gandhinagar has been named after Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation This was basically done to pay an ode to the great leader who was bron in Gujarat.
