The State that was carved out from Bihar on 15th November 2000 forming a new state was the state Jharkhand which lies in eastern india. This state is well known for its mineral resource & Forestry Products for which it popularly known as Vananchal(The the land of wood). Ranchi being the captial city of the state.
The State is bounded by Bihar in the North, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to west, Orissa to the south & West Bengal by east. The State is divided into 24 Districts.
