About Punjab

The word punjab is a combinatin of persian words "panj"(five) and "ab" (water) which means the land of five rivers. The five rivers are Jhelum, the Chenab, the Ravi, the Beas and the Sutlej.

Chandigarh being the captial city for Punjab & the language Punjabi the official language.

The State is bounded by Jammu and Kashmir State in the North, pakistan to the west, Haryana & Rajasthan to the south, & Punjab to northeast. The State is divided in to 20 Districts.
