Itanagar the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh is situated at the foot hills of Himalayas. Itanagar is also as known as 'the Land of the Dawn Lit Mountains' & also 'mini India'.

Itanagar derives its name from the Ita Fort built in the 15th century. Ita means "brick in the local tribal language".
