About Palakkad
Palakkad previously known as palghat is the largest town in south kerala. Palakkad lies at the foot of the Western Ghatts. In local language the name Palakkad is derived from two words “Pala” which means “barren land” and “Kadu” which means “Jungle”, hence the combined meaning of the word Palakkad is “the forests of Pala trees”. Palakkad is at a distance of 350 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram.

By Rail : Palakkad main railway station known as Palakkad Junction which is just 2.5 kms away.
